Privacy notice

Virgil is a product of Zeus Software S.r.l., registered office Via Chiesa 61, 30039 Stra (VE), Italy, VAT no. IT04368610277, which is the data controller. For any question about this notice or your data, write to virgil@zeus-software.it.

Like every web server, ours writes each request it receives to a log file: IP address, date and time, requested page, response status, referring page and browser type.

We use them only to run the site, protect it from abuse and investigate errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security and operation of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Logs are rotated daily and deleted automatically after 15 days at most.

To understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read, we use Umami, an analytics program running on our own server: the data is not sent to any outside service.

Umami uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system and device type, language and country. The country is derived from your IP address, which is not stored. Visits are counted with an anonymous identifier that changes every month, so it cannot recognise you from one month to the next or link you to other websites.

We only use these statistics in aggregate, to improve the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted automatically after 24 months.

If your browser sends the Do Not Track signal, the visit is not recorded.

The "Request a demo" form and the "Become a partner" button do not send anything themselves: they open your email program with a message to virgil@zeus-software.it already filled in. We only receive the data if you choose to send it.

In that case we process what you write: name, business, email address, sector, number of desks and locations and the rest of the message. We use it to reply, arrange the demo and, if you ask, prepare a proposal. The legal basis is pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request. If it leads to a contract, the data follows the retention periods required by law for contractual and tax records.

The site's fonts are served by Google Fonts. To download them your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information. Google processes them as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. Google Fonts sets no cookies.

The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The kiosk, desk and monitor demo on the home page runs entirely in your browser: the sample tickets and statistics are never sent to us and disappear when you close the page.

The site is hosted by Amazon Web Services on servers in the Milan region (eu-south-1). Email is handled by Aruba S.p.A., in Italy. Both act as data processors and process data only to provide their service to us.

We do not sell or hand over your data to anyone.

At any time you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. Just write to virgil@zeus-software.it: we reply within one month.

If you believe the processing breaches the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
